These terms apply to your use of ecometric.co.uk, including the Knowledge Hub and any public proof page you visit. Please read them. By using the website you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the website.
They cover the website only. Our services, and the customer portal that comes with them, are governed by the contract you sign with us. If anything in that contract differs from these terms, the contract wins.
Who we are
The website is run by Ecometric Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13499423. Our registered office is Fraser Ross House, 24 Broad Street, Stamford, Lincolnshire PE9 1PJ. You can contact us at info@ecometric.co.uk.
Using the website
The website is free to use. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it, or any content on it, will always be available or uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
If you have a customer portal account, keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them.
Information, not advice
Our guides, answers and case studies explain how soil carbon is measured and what we have seen across the farms we work with. They are general information. They are not agronomic, financial, legal, tax or investment advice, and they are not a substitute for advice on your own farm or business. What happens on your land depends on your soils, your weather and how the land is managed.
Figures such as hectares measured, projects and countries are stated as at the date shown or the date the page was last reviewed. Results from one farm or season do not predict results on another.
Nothing on the website is an offer to provide a service or to sell carbon credits. A quote is not a contract. Our services are provided only under a written contract.
Carbon credits and environmental claims
Where we describe carbon credits, credits are issued by the registry, under its independent verification rules, for each tonne sequestered after greenhouse gas emissions are deducted. Whether credits can be issued for a particular farm, and how many, depends on the measured result, the registry’s rules and verification. Carbon credits are not a regulated investment and nothing on the website is a promotion of one.
Ecometric measures. Independent verification is carried out by accredited verification bodies and registries, and we say so where it applies. If you use our results in your own marketing or reporting, you are responsible for making sure your claims are accurate and meet the rules that apply to you.
Public proof pages
A public proof page is published by the farm business it describes, using results we have measured. It shows the independent verification status stated on the page and links to the registry where that applies. You may view and share a proof page you have been given, but you must not alter it, present it as relating to a different farm or product, or try to guess or access proof pages you have not been given.
Our content and brand
We, or the people who license content to us, own the intellectual property in the website and its content, including text, images, maps, charts, methodology descriptions and the Ecometric name and logo. You may view, print and share pages, and quote short extracts with a link back to the page, for your own information or internal business use. You must not copy substantial parts of the website, or use our name, logo or content to suggest that we endorse you, without our written permission. Other organisations’ names and logos belong to them.
